12 ways to spoil yourself and others on a yacht

For those who are going rent a yacht and go on a sea voyage, it will not be superfluous to learn about the basic rules of conduct on the ship. Some things are fairly obvious and generally accepted, but some may really surprise you.

Knowledge of the rules of conduct and yacht etiquette will help you not only avoid additional financial expenses, but also return from the cruise with only pleasant impressions and memories.

However, if you want to "get a feel", be sure to try one or more proven ways to do it.

  1. Be sure to use the latrine (toilet) while standing.
An average sea roll will immediately indicate this error to you. And if you throw a foreign object into the toilet that clogs up the ship's sewage system, you are guaranteed to become a legend among all passengers!
  2. Hang your laundry on deck.
Drying on deck is not a good idea, simply because the gusty wind will blow them out to sea. And it will do it quickly and inevitably
  3. Jump on the deck of the yacht anywhere.
Jumping on the deck is not recommended for two reasons - you risk getting injured, and besides, there may be other passengers under you, it is unlikely for them like it.
  4. Remember your barefoot childhood.
Walking barefoot on the deck is generally prohibited, unless, of course, the yacht is your personal property. There are special yacht shoes for this. It must be without a heel and leave no marks.
  5. Leave the doors to the cabin and other rooms open.
Because of the rolling, it will definitely hit some of the passengers, and maybe you. The same goes for all furniture on the yacht, an open door is a source of problems.
  6. Try to show the captain a trick with swallowing a sword or juggling with knives.
When handling knives, scissors and other piercing and cutting objects, you must be extremely careful - rolling at sea can play a bad joke on you .
  7. You can clean the floor in the cabin twice a day with drinking water.
No, you should give up the habit of wasting drinking water uncontrollably on the ship, because its stock is limited to a certain volume.
  8. Boy and wolves.
If “something went wrong” or you have suspicions that something bad or dangerous may happen, you must immediately inform the captain about it ship. “Panic on the ship” is not good!
  9. Try to become a hero!
If someone or something suddenly turns out to be overboard of a sailing vessel, do not dive headlong after him. Without special training, the ship's crew will have to rescue you as well.
  10. If you like phone pranks, a yacht vacation is a great chance for you to prove yourself in business.
Going on the radio unnecessarily is a real chance to get in trouble. This is especially true for the false alarm of the Coast Guard - you will be provided with a solid fine for pampering on the air!
  11. Hey dude, let me steer!
Distract the skipper, especially on rented boat, during difficult maneuvering is strictly prohibited. Accidents at sea are less frequent than on land, but they do happen and no one really needs it.
  12. All unnecessary things go overboard.
Throwing garbage overboard is a very good idea if you have a lot of money to spare for such pranks. Garbage dumping fines can range from a few hundred to tens of thousands of dollars.

... and now swim!
